The relationship between schizotypal personality traits, attachment styles, and early adverse experiences

The aim of this study was to examine the differences in manifestations three schizotypal dimensions (cognitive-perceptive, interpersonal, disorganized), depending on attachment style and exposure different adverse experiences during childhood. conducted 181 participants, with a mean age 20.09 years (SD = 2.19). Schizotypy measured using Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire - Brief Revised (SPQ-BR), for assessment styles harmful childhood, special questionnaires were constructed. MANOVA showed that participants preoccupied had most prominent interpersonal disorganized symptoms, while individuals fearful highest scores dimension. There no significant between secure avoidant either dimension schizotypy. Adverse childhood turned out be relevant manifestation cognitive-perceptual symptoms were: frequent quarrels, negative impact self-esteem family harassment outside family. For dimension, rejection peer group, severe physical punishment, self-esteem, disorganization, important restrained or aggressive behavior mother, punishing father, results characterized by manifestations, schizotypy can associated specific early experiences, which could explain great heterogeneity symptoms.
